New verdicts in wildfire case add $19 million to PacifiCorp toll

The latest damages trial in the long-running 2020 Labor Day wildfire class-action lawsuit against PacifiCorp in Multnomah County Circuit Court ended Tuesday with smaller awards than in earlier trials.

Jurors gave nine plaintiffs a total of $10.8 million for pain and suffering, added to nearly $2.4 million for property damages that had been stipulated by the parties ahead of the weeklong trial. The jury votes ranged from
