Heavy rain, wind from tropical ‘superstorm’ headed to Northwest

Signaling the arrival of the region’s peak storm season, a cyclone that began as a tropical superstorm is expected to reach waters off the coast of Washington state on Thursday.

It comes among a series of weather events which will keep the Puget Sound region in rain and wind through next week.

According to the National Weather Service, “hazardous weather,” including hurricane force winds and dangerous seas, are expected in the Pacific over the next several days. Gale force winds are expected to hit Washington’s coastal waters on Wednesday.
