A big shelter project in Vancouver got a $5 million boost. The state of Washington just put the money into buying a hotel being turned into a homeless shelter.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A Vancouver Howard Johnson hotel is being turned into a homeless shelter. The bulk of the construction work began last month, to turn the shuttered hotel into a homeless shelter near the Vancouver mall.
