Some Portland roads shut down for ice; transportation officials urge caution on slick roads

KGW meteorologist Rod Hill said 1 to 2 inches of snow fell overnight. The snow will end by 9 a.m. Tuesday, Hill said, with the next chance of snow coming Thursday.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) said it closed three roads Tuesday morning because of icy conditions.

Here are the three road closures:

Southwest McDonnell Terrace between Fairmount Boulevard and Council Crest DriveNortheast Gilham Avenue between East Burnside and Davis StreetSouthwest 16th Avenue between Davenport Street and Hall Street

“Those are primarily neighborhood streets that are especially steep,” said PBOT spokesperson Hannah Schafer.
