- TV station SUV rolls into Columbia River
KENNEWICK, Wash. - While covering the news Friday morning a photographer with KVEW TV, the Tr-Cities ABC affiliate, became the news when his SUV rolled into the Columbia River, taking his video camera with it.Mark Harper, an employee for KVEW TV in Tri-Cities, was down at the Columbia River to shoot video of hydroplanes doing test runs on the river.Harper had his SUV parked along the riverbank and was setting up his camera behind the vehicle when it experienced a mechanical malfunction and rolled backward into the Columbia River, taking his video camera with it.While he was initially standing behind the SUV when it began to roll backward, Harper got out of the way and was not injured.Shortly after the incident he took a picture of his mishap and posted it to Twitter along with the comment, "My work car's going to be in the paper!" KVEW TV is owned by Morgan Murphy Media, the same company that owns KXLY TV.
